Buyout - The process of making an offer for a design

This article guides you step by step of how to make an offer and finish the payment for a buyout design

The flow of making an offer for a buyout design is:

  1. Buyer makes an offer.

  2. Designer can accept, decline or make a counter offer. If the designer declines, the buyer will not be able to continue it. If the designers make a counter offer, the buyer can also choose to accept, decline or make a counter offer (Note: The buyer will have 14 days to respond to the new offer before it expires).

  3. After both parties agree with the offer, the buyer will have 14 days to start proceeding they payment before the offer expires. They can choose to pay now via credit card, or pay later by invoice. If the buyer chooses to pay now, they must finished the purchase within 15 minutes before it expires. If they choose the second payment option, an invoice will be sent to the buyer's email address to proceed the payment by credit card. With the invoice payment method, the buyer needs to finish the purchase within 30 days before it expires.

  4. Once the buyer are done with the payment, the designer has 7 days to deliver the design files. Both parties can discuss about the file requirements in the chat box.

  5. After the files are delivered, the buyer has 14 days to download the files before they are deleted automatically. Buyer can request the new files if the current ones don't fit the requirements in the first 7 days. After these 7 days, the buyer will not be able to request to receive new files. If the buyer doesn't download the files after 14 days, the transaction will be marked autocomplete, and the payment will be delivered to the designer.

  6. After the transaction is done, the designer and the buyer can leave a review on the transaction details page.

After each action completed by the designer, you will receive a notification email at your registered email address. We kindly advise checking your mailbox regularly to stay informed and ensure you don't miss any deadlines.

Demonstration:

Go to a design that you are interested, then click "Make an offer" to start making an offer.

Note: The "Make an offer" button is available only when the designer allows us to sell their designs on the platform. Even though the designer doesn't sell their art on the platform, you still can contact them for more details about the design. You and designers will negotiate to finalize the price, and Patternfield does not involve in this process.

You can see all details about the design below the image (overview, details and reviews from other buyers). You can contact the artists for more information about the design by clicking the contact button. You can make an offer if you are interested in this design.

Enter a price you would like to spend on this design then send the offer to the designer.

The offer will be in your inbox page after sending the offer. You only need to wait for the response from the designer. You can see the current status of the offer. You can send a direct message at the same time.

In case that the provider declines your offer right away, you are no longer be able to continue this offer. You will make a new offer for it, or send a message to the provider for more details.

If the designer would like to offer a different price from the one that you offered, this is how the transaction details page looks like:

You can decline the new offer, or make a counter offer. If you want to make another offer, a pop-up shows up, asking you to input a new price.

Note: You will have 14 days to respond to the new offer before it expires.

If you accept the new offer from the provider, you will start to pay for this design. You will have 14 days after the offer was accepted to buy the design.

You can choose "Pay now via credit card", or "Pay later send me an invoice". If you choose to pay the design now, you have 15 minutes to finish before it expires. If you choose the second payment option, an invoice will be sent to your email address to proceed the payment by credit card. With the invoice payment method, you need to finish the purchase within 30 days before the order expires.

Once you are done with the payment, you can download the tax receipts. And the designer will have 14 days to send you the designs files. During these 14 days, you and the designer can discuss about the file requirements. You also can cancel the order if you are no longer interested.

Once the designer send you the design files, they will appear above the tax receipts. You can download and check if they fit your requirements.

If you need the designers to send you new files, you can click "Request update". The designer will have 7 more days to update the files. We advise you to talk to the provider so that they can provide you the correct files.

If the designer doesn't give you the design files that you need, you can ask for admin's support by clicking "initiate a dispute" below the buttons.

If you are satisfied with the design files, you can click the "Mark received" button to complete the transaction. You can also leave a review about the provider and their product.
